Default 03 s class headlight washer tray stuck open

Hi ,I have an 03 s430 4matic here in NY it was 25 deg today and before I even started my car I noticed the headlight washer tray on the drivers side was stuck open i tried to press the wash button but nothing happened its still stuck ,any thoughts ideas or suggestion ? I also noticed for the first time my washer reservoir must have a leak because it was filled last week and now its empty again and I havent used the car since filling .Another problem Im having that maybe someone can help me with is my power trunk ,sometimes it opens and sometimes it dont it always "pops" the lid but wont open it all the way the odd thing is it will react differently depending upon if I use the buttons located on the car itself or if I use the remote ,either way when I attempt to close or open I must hand assisit ,the majority of times it wont work but sometimes it will, its very unpredictable ,thanks in advance ,Peter

well problem #1, the headlight tray open may indicate that the washer that is under the water pressure of the washer pump may have become loosened from its post and now the entire unit is sliding back and forth on the stalk for which it is held in place. You will have to remove the driver's side headlight in order to take a look at whats going on inside this area. Afterwhich, just replace your washer pump (there are two of them; one for the windshield and another for the washer nozzles), you can buy them on ebay for less than $30.00. I had this issue and found that either due to low washer pressure, the pumps wouldn't rise and fell slowly. Since the stalks for which the nozzles are attached are plastic, it may help to add a light lubricant to the stalks as they rise (like some WD-40). This will take care of the years of being inside the stalk and drying out. The second problem simply sounds like your pressurized air arms to the trunk have run out their useful lives. Simply have the dealer replace the arms and or tighten the springs and this problem should go away.
