Water Pump Question

Default Water Pump Question

My ML320, 1998 water pump has about quarter inch play whenever I pull Radiator Fan towards radiator but like a spring effect goes back into its original position. I know it's not normal but wondering if it is my water pump bearing is going bad or fan clutch mechanism. Any advice please.
FYI, my initial inspection showed that I have 2 outlet water pump.

The fan bolts directly to the front of the pump so pump is suspect. My 1998 Ml320 pump bearingwent at 205,000Km or 127,000 miles. You have to remove the shroud then clutch fan then about 12 plus bolts from the front of the engine.

Thanks for the reply. Is Craft brand name water pump any good? It is cheaper than OEM brand name, so I figured if replacing it is necessary I would go for the aftermarket one.

Begging for more insight on 98 ML320 water pumps.

I have recently purchased a water pump to replace my failed one, and I need help. This is about my hundredth water pump job but mostly all Chevys of varying types and years.
1. What are ALL these bolts?
2. Can somebody post a belt diagram?
3. The first bolts to remove are hex head (?) and the fan is too close too
get an allen wrench in there! Should I use a hex bit from a nut driver set and a wrench (6mm?) to get in there?
4. My part came with the standard gasket with the holes in it but it also came with a rubber gasket or seal with tabs on it that can only go inside somewhere...but where?
5. After the first 4 bolts come off and I get the belt off I see few troubles but what other components must be removed, since I see some bolt sleeves in the holes on the water pump?
ANY HELP AND ESPECIALLY PICTURES WOULD BE APPRECIATED GREATLY!
