Transmission slipping after service ???
My 03' ML 350 was taken into the Mercedes shop for a clacking noise under the car, each time you put the car in gear as well as taking off and stopping, there is a ting like clack noise under the car. It just sounds like metal tapping on a tin can. The diagnosis was worn out motor mounts for my 80k mile vehicle. This was replaced as well as a B service, front brake pads, and asteering fluid lineo ring replacement. After driving off the lot, the tinging noise is still there, I took it back, and they just tightened all of the bolts on the exhaust and said I would have to bring it back for another visit, as it was 5:00 o'clock. My concern right now is that the vehicle's transmission slips when you back out of a parking spot and then put it in drive. Once I put it in drive, it starts revving up like it is neutral, i let off the gas to bring the rpms back to idle and then reapply the gas pedal and then everything is A-OK. Does anyone know why this is happening? This never happened until after it left the shop this last visit. Thank you.
