Should I Buy an ML
Hi,
I have a BMW 5 series and need a larger second car for the wife, as we are expecting our Fourth child. I fancied getting an ML with a family pack (7seater) rather than a boring people carrier.
Would you recommend an ML and what should I look out for?
I have checked out some prices and was looking at spending around £10K. Since they appear to be gas gusslers, you can get alot of motor for not alot of money. The wife does about £20 per month in her Polo, so I with an ML this will double..... Not the end of the world.
Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

The ML class is definately the way to go if you're looking for class and good looks. I'm assuming you might pick up a ML 350 considering the price, however they are still powerful yet smooth with the 7-speed auto. Besides mileage to look out for, I'd suggest having a mechanic check the transmission out. Mercedes hasn't had good luck with them lately.
Hi - Here is my two cents. I turned in my 2003 BMW 525i after the 39 month lease was up. My intention was to lease a new 2006 5 series. Then I saw the redesigned ML and fell in love with it. I was not in the market for a SUV but ordered one andam in love with it.
I ordered the premium, lighting, upgraded logic 7 stereo, front bumper guard, read climate control, etc. I wish I had ordered the convenience package which included memory seats and tilting passenger side view mirror, and motorized folding sideview mirrors.
The milease is better than I expected and lots of power. my only complaint is that the cruise control stalk is positioned too high and I am constantly trying to use it for the turn signals. Ride is very comfortable, the leather seats are great especially with the premium seating package, and the AC is ice cold.
Overall I love the vehicle and can see my keeping it after the lease is up. My wife wants to keep it and I will probably get the GL on 2009.
Hope this helps. Any other questions, please let me know.

You might want to take a look at the R class..assuming they have those over seas. The R class has a full second row of seats, easily fitting two adults and can be purchased for about the same price as an ML now..after a lil haggling. Lol. If your looking to go offroad though forget it..go with an ML, the R class isnt set up for that but does have the 4 matic that will handle snow covered roads with ease.
