Should I buy a 300e??
I'm new here, and don't even have a MB yet.</P>
I need to know a few things about the late 80's 300e's.</P>
WHat are common problems? If I pick one up with arond 150,000 KM's on it (110m) what should I expect to have to change??</P>
How solid is this car going to feel with mileage on it?</P>
I'm getting rid of my done-to-the-nines turbo RX-7 in favour of a car that won't leave me stranded every other day, and one that I won't be tempted to modify, or peel out in constantly! (I'm growing up??? Ha.) I also want something that will last me years to come, well into several hundred thousand miles. I can do pretty much all the work myself, I just don't want to be doing any!!</P>
The other option is a BMW 325/318.. but by reading reviews I defintaly think that the general consesus is that these 300e's are more reilable.</P>
This car seems to be a perfect balance of everything I want; comfort, performance, reliability....</P>
So, what should I do??</P>
Oh ya, what were the difference in trim/interior and stuff from 86-92?? Anything?? I wouldn't mind a few nice bells and whistles.</P>
What would be the best year to buy in that range?</P>
Thanks!</P><edited><editID>Bambam</editID><editDate>37971.0335185185</editDate></edited>

I'm the new owner of an 88 300E. 102,000 miles. Nice car. So far the radio doesn't work, some problem with the volume control I think and it has an occasional miss at idle when it's warmed up. Great seats, ride and handling. Just put new P6 tires on. Want to do a few mods, suspension, intake and exhaust. Would welcome any input.</P>
</P>
Thanks,</P>
