I bought a 2005 ML 500 in April. I believe its equipped with most of the parts required for the navigation system because its a Special Edition. I know that navigation works from the same console as the radio/CD player. When I inert the navigation DVD, the system does recognize it. I think there is some sort of chip in the antenna that links the navigation satellite to my car and I think thats what its misisng but not sure.

My dealer wants to charge me $2000 for the naviation system but I think I may only need a new antenna with the chip.

Does anybody have more info about this?
