Default No Changer

I did the repair - before finding this posting - Miko describes the reapir to last detail. Unfortunately for me, the mechanical problem being fixed, I am no faced with the "No Changer"message.
Anybody any suggestions?

Thanke you!

Default I solved the problem... kinda...

I own a 2002 ML 320 and after parking and driving out, I noticed the CD changer stopped working. So I came home and found this forum.
After trying to pull the CD changer out, I accidentally smacked the CD changed with my knee... Once that happened, a whirling sound happened and the cartridge popped right out! I put it back in and tried to listen to the CDs and it worked! I went back, opened it and tried ejecting the cartridge and it seems everything worked....

So I'd suggest (if you want) to give it a good smack on the side and see if it allows it to pop up.

Default Possible reason for cartridge not ejecting

I had a similar problem on my 2000 S500. This post is only in regards to the inability to eject the magazine. My system is a ten disk changer so this may not apply.

I too had a lot of "CD's" that I had burned and frequently I could not get the magazine to eject (other than through dogged persistence). Eventually I started taking a very close look at what was happening. I found that tolerances in the CD changer were so close that the sticky labels that I had on my CD's (Full CD size inkjet printed label) were getting hung up in the changer. I stopped using the labels (just wrote on the CD's with a sharpie) and never again had a magazine ejection problem

Hope that helps.

Thumbs up "No Changer" issue fixed

They prove it every time you call them don't they "Dealers are stealers". You don't need to spend even a single penny to fix this problem. Its probably a CD that has got stuck in the changer for one of the many reasons. Like one post suggested, just give your CD changer a good smack or two and it will start working again. It worked for me!!!

Default Cassettte retrieved!

Well, after posting about the same problem, I then went and searched the board... A combo of 'tough love' and activating the release switch with a thin piece of sturdy plastic while pushing the eject button gave me what I wanted: The cassette from my CLK500. After I remove the burned disk (which come to find the changer does not like the flavor of) I'll try it again! Thank you all!!
