2001 ML320 CD CHANGER WILL NOT EJECT MAGAZINE-RADIO CONSOLE DOESN'T RECOGNIZE CHANGER
I'm having a problem with the CD changer on my 2001 ML320. The radio console no longer recognizes the CD changer (it says 'NO CHANGER' when you press the CD button) and also the changer unit itself will no longer eject the magazine, thus now I havesix CDs stuck in the changer. When I press the eject button, it will flash green and make some internal noise (like it's getting ready to eject) but the eject button will only flash a few times and then it stops. I suspect that something could be wrong with the changer unit. After a few calls to some local Mercedes Dealers, they're trying to tell me I need a whole new changer unit which costs $930, so I would have to resort to seeing if I can at least find one that will work off the internet. All the MB dealers have told me that the only changer that will work in the car is thepart number that's in there now (A-163-820-15-89 Model 3110). One dealer in the parts department told me the changer unit with that part/model number is in the glove box and not in the back of the car, where it was when we bought it. I've seen a couplechanger units advertised on eBay that will supposedly fit on a 2001 ML320 but the part/modelnumber is different (A-203-820-90-89 Model 3010) for which all the MB dealerships I calledhave told me this unit is *not* compatible with the 2001 ML320 though the eBay seller tells me that it *is* in fact compatible. Could it be that the 2001 changer is a fiber optic unit? Are there other model numbers that will fit in the 2001 ML320? Is there anybody that can straighten this out? Also, are there places I can take the existing changerto have it fixedrather than have to replace it? I live in the San Diego area. Please help!!

RE: 2001 ML320 CD CHANGER WILL NOT EJECT MAGAZINE-RADIO CONSOLE DOESN'T RECOGNIZE CHANGER
I am having the EXACT same problem with my C320. I was listening to a burned CD of mixed songs. I turned off the entire radio and when I turned it back on, the CD Changer wasn't recognized. I tried to eject it and it seems like it's stuck. Looking closely it seems the CD I was listening to is stuck and now I have six of my favorite CDs stuck in it and can't get them out. I'm pretty irked by the whole situation.

Hi, same thing happen to me. It's not too difficult to fix. Take the casing off, be careful with theantivibration springs. You should be able to see the dried greasemark on the mechanism. Put some grease on those mechanism and this should fix the problem.

Same problem on a 2003 ml320
Same exact problem encountered. Burned CD, unit says "no changer" and when eject is pressed, blinks, movement appears, then stops. IF A SOLUTION HAS BEEN FOUND PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP. Thanks. 2003 ML320

Got the same problem also, mine was OK until I loaded the changer to full, a tech guy in the Audio repair place told me that its better never to fully load, always leave one space. Presumably can discard and replace with other than original, even if means having single cd dash mounted set-up.

Does not recognize cd magazine and will not eject
I have the same issue as several posters. Control system does not recognize that the cd magazine of 6 cds is loaded and it will not eject. There must be a simpler solution than replacing the whole unit. Person that posts the solution I will send $50 to (promise)!!!!!
