1996 E320..

dual climate control not working. AC on its blowing hot air out drivers side and cold air out passanger. IM guessing the mix flap is stuck... where is it on this car (dash or under hood) and is it easy to get to?

thats not your problem sounds like your either low on freon. due valve is messed up or your expantion valve is sticking. oh and it may even be your dryer is partially pluged up. how ever i would start with the due valve its located need the control unit box under the hood on the passengers side.

Hello mambodave,

as vytamenc already wrote, You should check the duo-valve and the freon level.

Can You hear a kind of gently fizzling noise out of the center diffusor when AC is working and short time after turning off the engine?
Then the freon level is under, maybe round about 300 Gramm (of 1000).

You can easily check the duo-valve by comparing the temperaturs at both valves. They should be same, otherwise You´ve found the defect...

note:
You can also check the control voltage of both valves.
Temperature adjustment LO = <1 Volt at the electrical plug (connected!)
Temperature adjustment HI = 12-14 Volt ...

Also an easy and quick way to check the system, is to use the Star-Diagnosis, which shows the
actual values of the entire System...

Greetings
Peter

P.S.:
Sorry if my terms are not that correct - don´t be angry at me...
Technical and car specific English is difficult for me
