On this year the locks are electric from what I know.
Did you check the fuses, or do you have any other electrical problems?
On my wagon I can pull the inside cover and get to the interior side of the lock under the flap, what allow me to pull the pin manually.
Didn't have to use it (yet) but have seen it, while doing other job.

2001 CLK Owners manual (pg 287 "manual release for fuel filler flap") says the release **** is located behind right side truck panel- in case central locking system does not release fuel filler flap, pull the manual release **** while simultaneously opening the fuel filler flap.

Thanks for your help... I went to a local body shop and it turns out that the tab that is on the flap got bent and closed on the front of the rubberish "thing." This pretty much made the flap stuck. Got it pried open with no damage to the finish and fixed the problem. Just wanted to let you guys know. Thanks for all your help.
