Hey guys I'm going to look at an 05 e500 this week, Just wondering what I should look for when I check this car out. The car gas 90k on it. I know alot of cars have things that go wrong at certain mileage. I just don't know much about Mercedes. i am a current corvette owner. I know those cars very well as well as BMW but I know the Benz is nothing like either. So if there are things that i should look closely for please let me know if you would. thanks

 

Check suspension (upper a arms, lower control arms, also make sure no air leaks in air ride suspension), maf sensor is a common replaced part, air leaks in breather covers on valve covers, don't forget this vehicle take's 2 spark plugs per cylinder. Other common issues known for w211 cars is transmission conductor plate and solenoids, tcu, shift module, and auxiliary battery.
