I just bought my first MB, It's a 1998 E320. I love this car. After reading the manual, I can't get the trip meter to reset to zero.

As I understand it, you either press and hold "R" or double tap and hold R until you see the result you want. Problem is, I can hold down the R button until my finger gets tired, nothing happens. Please tell me what I'm doing wrong.

You have to be in the screen where it shows you your distance to service. Then you hold down the "r" button.

 

Answer: Press and hold the "0" button on the left side of the cluster frame. Works every time.
