Is the trip computer supposed to be lit on my 01 430?

I assume then it's just a light bulb.? Does the unit come off easily to replace the bulb?

Hello Sleepwalker!
I also have an 01 ml430 with the same comments as i have been reading from today's postings.
However, my navigation system worked intermittantly and now it has me out in the ocean
the same location everytime I turn it on. It also is not picking up any satellites. Also the FM signal comes and goes as well as the volume when I listen to fm radio. The cd system works and sounds great.
Any clues you may help me with? Or if I can answer any questions you may have. Thanks

Do you mean updated by the dealership? I have not yet.

 

Is it possible for a somewhat mechanically-inclined person to do this herself? Or should I take it to the dealer?
