RE: Spark Plugs
The only hard part is removing the plug wires. You may need soft jaw pliers designed for that task. If you destroy them, you had better have a new set on hand as they are not easy to get.
You need a spark plug feeler gage, 3/8 drive ratchet, 2, 4 and 6 inch extensions, a plug socket (5/8"preferably with a knuckle connector) some dielectric grease, thread anti seize, patents and a good light. And yes, you can do it in about two hours. See our sponsor "get cool parts" for the plugs.

Hi,
I agree with BikerDrew.
Couple of additional points.
Need to remove air cleaner to gain access.
Removing the coil modules helps especially on SLK due to restricted access. 1 x Torqx screw per module.
Plugs are platinum tipped and are expensive (12 off) subject to type/make etc
When removing the plugs you need to be sensitive to "feel". Plugs can seize to thread in cylinder head and if you apply too much effort you can damage the thread. Sometimes it helps to untighten and then tighten again a couple of times to break the "gunge" that gets deposited on the thread.
Use a little anti-seize on the thread during reassembly
Make sure the plug leads A & B go back on in the correct order.
BikerDrew........ What are "patents" please?
Stuart

Hey Stuart, how long should the plug wires last? Is it worth the money to just do them at the same time as the plugs?
