2003 E320 83,000 miles. The radio began this morning turning itself off and on by itself. It will do this about every 15 to 20 seconds. About as annoying as a bad date. Anyone seen this before or have ideas?

 

My 2005 S430 had a similar problem. Radio random coming on and running battery down. Local MB dealer was no help except to charge me for doing nothing. MB told me to call the dealer and dealer said do not bring the car back because they could not fix it. 2nd dealer kept it for 5 months and tried to sell me a $5,000 radio that did not fix the problem. Austin aftermarket repair shop charged me and unhooked half the dashboard as a fix. I finally found an auto electric shop that unhooked the power wire to the radio from the computer and hooked it up to the fuse box to an on when the engine is running circuit and that fixed it for $200. MB has a persistent computer problem turning radios on and running batteries down and not helping customers like me. Very disappointed in what was supposed to be a premium vehicle.

 

Is it essential to turn off the radio every time you turn the car off?
