i have a E320 CDI about 3 months ago it started giving me an intermitin problem afther driving for morm them an hour or so it would half its power and when i would turn it off and try to start it again, it would try to turn over but wouldn't start the car would have to cool down completly for it to reset itself and then work fine. this happens every now and again have brought it to a garage they say they cant find anything wrong because theres no error codes coming up.
is there anyone who has had a simmiler problem or has any ideas thanks

hi again,
my problem has just got alot worse the pipe from the turbo to the intercooler has come off shatering the houseing on the turbo could the original problem have anything to do with this.
i.e. when the car reaches a high temp. a crack in the houseing would expand allowing an improper air to fuel mix causing the car to half its power and when cooled down the crack would close up causing the car to run fine

I have an '05 CDI and they have done the following thus far ............ replaced EGR valve and reprogrammed the transmission ....... It was shifting spiratically . I am still experiencing difficulty with it stumbling around 1200 RPMs .. The fuel filter is next ........... We will see. .. How many miles on your car ? I am at 25,000 miles

 

have solved the problem after over 6 months of sending it to the garage and them saying theres nothing wrong had enfough and sent it to another on 3 hours after droping it off the tell me whats wrong, a cracked head caused by an injector been put in on the wrong treads and who was the last people to have the injectors? the first garage and i can safely say im not paying the bill
