Default Over-reving sound on E320

Sometimes at idle after start up, I hear something under the hood (maybe it is the AC compressor or some type of blower) which sounds like it is revving at 5000+ RPM. I checked the tach once to be sure it wasn't the engine and it was not. It doesn't happen often, seems like it is after initial start up. Any ideas of what I am hearing?
