Default oil change interval

The manual for my '06 e350 says change the oil every 13,000 miles using synthetic. I've done it twice at 8,000 and 16,000. I'm close to 24,000. Is it really safe to go 13,000? I'd rather not spend the money if I don't have to.

Default RE: oil change interval

Fss system shows interval at 13000 unless the system adjusts for driving patter hot cold cycles, oil breakdown etc.,so change it every 13000 unless the dash says more frequently. And then reset the fss.

some of the cars go as high as 20000 on the FSS so the synthetic oil will last a long time if not abused...........our 99 E wagon is 10000 oil change, our 06vw conv. is every 5000 up to 10000miles and then every 10k from then on,syn lasts and doing so saves millions of gallons of oil down the drains, and landfill pollution yearly. Not to mention saving your wallet!!!!!!!!!!!
