Default Service Interval after ECU change

Hi all, I have recently purchased a 2000 E320 Wagon which I am very pleased with.I bought it from an independent Merc dealer and on road test the vehicle had a flat spot when accelerating away from standstill and the check engine light was on. To cut a long story short the ECU was replaced before I handed over my cash and the vehicle now runs great. I have been familiarising myself with the handbooks and realise these cars have a complex monitoring system to determine when they require servicing. The computer is currently telling me I have 8400 miles to the next "A" service. My concern is when the dealer replaced the ECU (just over 2000 miles ago) would this have also reset the service interval computer? The oil doesn't look very clean on the dipstick and I have no idea when it was last serviced. I understand that the condition of the oil is monitored in these cars? If so, I take it the oil must be good for another 8400 miles given my current driving style or has resetting the ECU affected things?Maybe I should just change the oil to be safe.If I changed the oil would the oil monitoring systemon the car increase the service interval because of the new oil?

To change the oil you will need a topsider or mityvac or one of the suction oil tanks.Filter at www.autohausaz.com fleece filter only and mobil1 0w40 synthetic mb spec.
oil can be found at walmart napa etc. but must be the mb spec oil.
If in doubt change it now and reset the fss by following the simple reset procedure in the owners manual.
How many miles on it?Probably time for the trans fluid to be changed along with the trans filter.I sell the special dipstick needed to check the trans fluid level.
also have the special 17mm plug boot removal tool that is a must for plug changes so you dont harm the plug wires.
enjoy the new car.

Thanks for the info. Do I have to vacuum out the old oil? Is there no sump plug?
