my car has been hisitating fot the last 6 months but the shifting has been smooth. now out of no- where it is staying in second and reving.

I really dont think its the tranny because it was never slipping. it just started to not shift from 2nd gear or first gear. I dont even know.

please help.

First thing is to get trans oil level checked.

Hi, the tranny fluid is fine.

I also unplugged the battery for ten minutes to reset computer. still not shiftin.

Try this...

Remove both cables form the battery. Put those 2 cables together to make contact. Leave it overnight.... (a good way to discharge all the data in the trans computer)
