i bought a used e420 with a transmission problem, the transmission will not shift out of 1st gear (or it might be 2nd gear as some people in other forum said that this is limp home mode)
the check engine light is one and with a regular scanner i got theses 2 codes (after i reset it and drove it):
1. P0105 (pending) Manifold Absolute Pressure/Barometric Pressure Circuit
2. P0730 Incorrect Gear Ratio

 

The pending map code may just clear itself,if a temp condition existed.
The gear code may need some checking into the connections to the trans and fluid level
what year 420?have you tried a reset?

the car is 1997 with 125000 miles original rimes and same tire size as original transmission has been replaced with another usedtransmission that had been testedbut still have the same problem

Forget the pending.
Trans module needs to be checked.
Any good shop with the sds system will test it.

its working fine now after i got the leak fixed and got the oil changed
