Multiple problems with car and dealer
Troubles with car (used 2000 E Class Brabus Benz Wagon with less than 40,000 miles) purchased in May this year.
1. the very first day the side mirror fell off and the mirror motor had problems
the stereo was poorly installed such that the DVD/navi player and screen are not connected to the DVD/CD head unit
Trim rings were not used to make the install look good. Told these stereo problems can not be fixed and trim rings not available.
Only one key was provided with the car. Told a spare key would cost 40,000 yen.
Within a few weeks we started having light problems and error messages
The A/C stopped working (told it was a switch problem)
The rear passenger window would not stay up... told it was adjusted
problems 5-7 were “fixed” only to reappear again in a few weeks
The lights were repaired again only to fail again a few days later/same with the window
the car died in traffic
needed drive shaft sensor
needed thermostat
9-12 were fixed only to have the headlight problem return and the engine oil light come on the day we received the car
told it needs oil pressure sensor and HID light relays
Headrest liner comes undone due to broken plastic holder
Rear cup holder breaks
Rust is bubbling up on the door sills.
Steering is becoming rough
Transmission sometimes shifts poorly (holds gear too long or pops into “neutral” briefly between shifts)
all repairs have taken a long time (usually more than a week and often more than a month). Most repairs were done poorly such that the problem reappeared again.
The rental car we receive each time is no where near as big or “nice” and lacks DVD/NAVI/ETC which makes the car less useable.
THE CAR IS STILL IN THE SHOP!!!! We have probably driven the car less than the rentals!
