The 5.6 multiple power ratings
While doing some research at a MBZ place, they gave me three power ratings that the 560SEL 5.6 engine was tuned to and 238hp wasn't one one of them.
246hp for US specs, 270hp and 300hp. I'm guessing the 300hp is usually the Euro spec one and the lower one, 246 is Us spec, but what is the 270hp? Which spec is that?
(Note: when repairing a car here in Germany, they ask for two things. The vin number (guess for records and ordering of correct parts.) and then ask for horsepower (reason I don't kmow besides that some of the parts are and can be slightly different from the US specs and Euro specs ones in some places under the hood.)
But another question is how can I get this 5.6 to push out the euro 300 hp with the cataylic convertor. (Heard it was possible. Also I noticed a small detail that is different between the 300 hp Euro models and the US models. Under the hood on the air intake/air filter housing, (the big silver metal thingy) there is a small rubber line hole in the US specs ones while the Euro spec ones are missing that hole. Is that making a difference in HP ratings? Or how can I get this thing to push out at least 270hp. 270 doesn't seem to far off and should be a bit easier to achive while maintaining the US smog passing specs.
And another question is that I recently seen a couple of post that says the US W126 have a speed limiter. At what speed does this thing really kick in? (Note I already reached the 150 mph mark and nothing yet.) And how do you get rid of it? (In Germany, not sure how difficult this would be since I doubt MBZ spead this procedure out publicly and many German Mercedes owners and mechanics never had to worry about this since I doubt the german ones are speed governed.

RE: The 5.6 multiple power ratings
I never heard about the speed limiter but like i mentioned in another post b4 there is a company out there that has/had a cam upgrade for the 5.6 but i cant find the catolog it was in if i even still have it cause at the time i did not yet have my 560 i only had the 300.

RE: The 5.6 multiple power ratings
older version got no speed limiter since they are mechanical injection.
even the cruise control is a separate unit consist on motor, linkage, and position sensor.
increasing the compression and piston to 97.50mm can increase the horsepower... but not much.
