Any help will be appreciated! I get several different malfunctions at different times. Sometimes an SOS warning and it tries to dial help. Sometimes ABC malfunction "see dealer". They seem to rotate which makes me think it may be a computer problem instead of an actual systems malfunction. I also got a message stating the ABC system was too low and not to drive the car after I parked it for a week. The SRS looks to be a separate problem and has been on since I purchased the vehicle a few weeks ago. Is there an easy reset without going to a dealer? Please help... 2003 SL500

 

if the car sits for a long period of time the hydraulic suspension or ABC will settle and this is normal, usually after about a week of sitting this is prone to happen. But it sounds like you really do have a problem with the ABC system, this is pretty common on CL's and SL's is the car actually sitting low or is it just on the display?

 

it sits fine regularly and the button that changes the hight works fine as well. Your info is helpful though, at least I know that this is OK after sitting for a week

 

SRS light on is not uncommon for an '03 SL, I believe. It typically is caused by a poor electrical connection in a circuit. Reading codes would determine the problem. A shop can do it for you, or you can get a Carsoft-type scanner on eBay for about $250 that will do it for you. Send me an email if you want me to direct you to a current auction for one of these scanners.

 

Buying my own scanner sounds like it could be good to have. Can you point me in the right direction?
