HI,

If I recall, you simply remove the engine cover, flip it over and there are 4 screws per filter...

My question is: how do you remove the rear engine cover ??? there is a big metal clip toward the rear... anything else do I have to remove prior to lift up the rear cover ??

I have a 07 E350. I don't know if the engine covers are the same. Probably are.
In my car after removing the front cover, there are 3 clipsin the main cover
one in the left , close to a small hose (you have to remove also) and two in
the back. To remove , you have to push the cover up from the clips. The same
with the one on left front. Remember to disconect the hose (small) and the two
hoses on each side. Once you pull thecover, there aretwo filters, you can clean
or replace depending on the miles andfilters condition.
If you need some photos , let me know I can take these and send to you.
good luck!
Oh!!.. I forgot to mention that you have to push the metal clip back to free the cover.
