Need some help with this one guys..E220 on a 1994 plate 2.2 petrol auto


Renewed the transmision seal on the sump pan as it had a slight leek after the job was done the gear lever would only move from park to reverse and it was really stiff to move..afer discovering
that it was short of fluid it was topped up..started the car up moved the gear lever back but it was still stiff ..then all of a sudden it shot back to its normal movement....a little pressure was applied at the time..
Now it only has forward drive in every position that the gear lever is in including park and neutral..have cheacked the selector rod from the shift and its fine even took the rod of the lever to check it was ok but still no joy..the car has not been driven only started it up and run for a short time..
