[]I was given a 1988 300E as a gift. I've had it one day and now if the door is opened the headlights and tail lights start flashing and coutinue flashing for about 1 minute. The horn doesn't sound. My first thought was an alarm. But I haven't turned it on, to my knowledge. Any suggestions?

 

Looks like someone disconnected the alarm and just left the light portion working.It is either the door switch or the radio ground wire.it thinks its been stolen

sounds like the alarm but the horn is not hooked up or working. try putting the key into the driver door lock while lights are flashing , and locking and unlockingto see if lights stop blinking.
