Fault with flashing side lights can you help?

Question Fault with flashing side lights can you help?
I have a Mercedes SLK 2004 and recently my side lights have started flashing continuously as if the alarm has gone off. I have re set, changed battery in the remote and checked that all the doors and petrol cap are closed correctly. Any advice?
