Engine Coolant light - 94 E320
Hi all,
I have a question about my coolant light coming on in my 94 e320. It comes on after 25-30 minutes of driving, however it is very very dim. The temp gauge is in the normal position (between 80-100) I had a mechanic look at it and he could not find anything wrong with it. (Not sure how close he looked) He topped off the coolant, but it still came back on tonight. There are no signs of any coolant leaking out, etc.. Any ideas? Perhaps a sensor?
Thanks!
Andrew

RE: Engine Coolant light - 94 E320
When my rad hose blew a few months ago, I had the same problem after I replaced it and topped up the coolant.
Thinking that I was low on coolant I added more. The problem continued.
I then thought that maybe the connection to the sender was being shorted out by coolant (it had overflowed)
I removed half the coolant, then dried out the connection.
The problem has not returned. I have since added a bit more coolant -- there is max and min level markings on my coolant tank (92 400E)
I think perhaps that the light comes on of the coolant is too FULL as well as too empty, but I have not confirmed this.
