99 E320 LOW COOLANT SYMBOL COMES ON AND IT SAYS COOLANT FAN. FAN COMES ON LIKE SUPPOSED TO AND COOLANT LEVEL IS GOOD. WHAT COULD BE THE PROBLEM?

 

IF your coolant level is correct..are you sure?...and assuming that you have not had to top it up recently due to loss of coolant (which could have caused an air lock) then I guess the level sensor has gone bad.
No idea where sensor is on your model but guess that its in the header tank. What happens if you remove the sensor connection?

Somewhat confused.
You state Low Coolant symbol comes on but that it says coolant fan. Potential conflict in this statement. Are we talking coolant fan or coolant level?

OK. I'm not doubting your eyesight. So what about the rest of the question I asked? Been using coolant. Needed to refill / top up?

no loss of coolant at all. have not had to add coolant either.
