I have a newly purchased 2006 E500 wagon. I previously had a 2002 E320 wagon. In that car it would automatically lock the doors when I started driving but when I stopped and got out of the car it unlocked all of the doors and trunk.

On the newer car the doors automatically lock but when I get out only the drivers door is unlocked and I have to go back into the car to push the button to unlock the other doors.

Is there a way to change the settings so all doors unlock when the drivers door is opened?

press and hold both unlock and lock and hold them until the red light flashes on the remote, usually about 5 seconds. this will change the locks from global to selective and vise versa. you can either unlock all the doors with one press, or only unlock the driver door with one press. Im not sure if this procedure changes the opening the driver door and all the doors unlock. I think you might have to hit unlock button on the console.
