Heeeelp! Locked-out + no battery...
Hi All,
CLK 230 (1999)
Here's my predicament.
I removed the battery to recharge it. I inadvertantly closed the trunk ('boot' in UK). I then discovered that the manual key will only go two-thirds of the way into the trunk lock (though it does lock/unlock the doors). I have sprayed all sorts of releasing oil into the aperture but to no avail.
Does anybody know of any secondary electrical points under the hood ('bonnet') where I could connect the battery in order to use the electronic key to open the trunk?

Didn't try it, but for electrical trunk opening all it would take is jumper thru cigarette lighter, or connecting to main rail on fuse box.
Than about the key. Are you sure you are not using wallet key on the trunk?

All MB cars, that I know comes with factory 2 main keys and one wallet key, that you give to wallet, when you use the service, or to mechanic.
This key will not open trunk, or glove compartment, so you don't have to worry about cleaning it for the service.
If you have another key, try it.
