Update on the starter problem of 10/23. After spending several weeks trying to figure out what was causing the problem, I made a jumper for the starter lockout module which allowed me to start and drive the car. It also revealed the fact that none of the dash electrical guages, parking brake indicator light, nor the brake lights were working. I gave up and took the car to a mechanic. He replaced the aluminum fuses and cleaned the fuse contacts with cleaner...problem solved. The funny thing is, it was the first place I looked. Apparently the aluminum oxidizes and breaks contact even though everything looks clean and perfect. $360 dollar lesson. Hope it helps someone out there some day.
