Can I Install A Remote Starter On 1998 E320?? As we all know, mercedes has the little coded way of starting a car. Has anyone with a mercedes close to my year been able to install a remote car starter??? Thank you for your time.

 

If you could find one that will work with your car. Mercedes electronic are priority so it might be tough. IMHO and having "fooled"with my C280 electronic I would avoid it unless it is vehicle specific and the installer knows his or hers business.

 

i see there are remotes that say they are 97 Mercedes and up compatible. I just want to know which remote someone used to i can get a recommendation

 

It is not just a question of buying a remote starter. If your car wasn't made for remote start, then the remote is not going to start it. You might have to spend a lot of money to have a Mercedes remote and the electonics that go along with it installed. DON'T have an aftermarket one installed either. Mercedes electonics are finicky when it comes to non Mercedes electronic. Take my advice on this one. I've been there with other aftermarket electronics.
