Hi everybody
i am suspecting that something wrong with my 2002 auto.gearbox...and during a normal servicing the mecanic told me that he noticed that radiator is leaking and water is mixed with gearbox oil he also told me that Mercedes was aware of this fault and made a recalls and you have to check if your car is included.
does anyone heard something like this

Most automatic transmissions are cooled by the engine coolant. Most commonly there is a heat exchanger in the radiator through which transmission fluid passes. Some cars have a heat exchanger at the transmission through which the coolant passes. In any case I have to believe that if the heat exchanger fails andcoolant getsin the trannythere will beextensive damage. I recomend that you attend to this at once. Lets hope it's not to late.

i think the damage has been done the mecanic (mercedes independent) spoke about changing the gear box and said if you are lucky mercedes recognize your car among those recalled for this issue...when i called their customer service in london they said there is nothing registred on the car's file but asked me to take the car to be checked by a mercedes dealer who will know if it is fault which the manufacturer will repair it for free
