Default Misfuelling E270 CDI diesel with petrol

I misfuelled didnt realise and drove for a abt .25 mile. Stopped the car, started it a little later and then she hiccuped. Immediately turned off ignition and realised what I had done!!!

Has this happened to anyone and what did you get replaced etc. to sort the car?

really all you need to do is removed the back seat-removed the fuel pump and find a cheap electric fuel pump from a parts store and pump all the gas out of the tank-fill up with diesel fuel and replace your fuel filter and you should be alright

i'm a bit late with my answer but since there is a lot of misfuelling all over the world, haven't any of you thought about some protection fot that? in UK they've got one product, dunno how the company is called DDN or smth with a tank fuel cap that prevents that. but since they're very expensive, around 100€ for that cap that i will never give, there's also cheaper company - www.solodiesel.eu

maybe it's worth a try.

the fuel will have most likely stuffed the seals in your diesel only fuel pump. These can be expensive to repair but must be replaced and the tank and fuel system drained. Then you refill and should be right.
