considering a wagon (e320)..need suggestions
hi everyone...we're thinking of getting another wagon and thought of the e320 wagon...what are some good years? are the 2000+ models okay? or mechanical nightmares? let me know..
Personally i like the older late 80's early 90's big S-class cars (420,560)....
which would you choose? thanks

I've had this '01 E320 4matic wagon since '04 and have replaced primarily wear/service items and now, finally, the K40 relay ($106) after a no-start condition. Replaced rotors once & pads a few times, lower ball joints once, rad hoses/coolant twice, a few serpentine belts, just put the third battery in it from original, front struts and CV boots at 120k, trans filter& fluid at 110k, many filters, much oil, fluids, etc. But that's not too shabby for the 155k miles on it today, the 10 year old who rode in the back then now drives it to school...
My main gripes would be the rubber seals around the roof rack have crumbled (fixed w/ black RTV), the buttons on the steering wheel are always 'tacky' to the touch (though not enough to spend money on new ones) and the rear window regulators suck, I've changed a few of those. I do all my own work on the car, other than tires and alignments, they aren't too bad to if you are handy, do your homework or get the book.
I'd buy another W210 though I feel having the service history and making sure everything works is really important, I'd avoid that auction car w/ empty glovebox and 'needing a few things' unless really clean, low miles and cheap...
