Default Change water pump on 92 190E 2.6l

Got coolant leaking out the bottom middle of the motor, took it to a mechanic, wants about $800 to change it and some other items out.

I did search and found some post, but nothing real specific.

Do I have to remove everything in front of the pump?

Can this be a DIY kind of job? (Im slightly mechanically inclined)

Do I have re-do the timing?

Anything special needed to do this?

I will be picking up a Haynes manual to see how easy/hard this will be, just wanna get a heads up here.
