i am having trouble with my alarm system on my 1994 E320 sedan. IF i open the door from the drivers side with the key the alarm goes off, however if i open the door from the passenger side or the trunk, everything is normal. I was thinking it might be some cut wires or loose connections but wanted the opinion of the experts, so any information would be valuable, thanks in advance

check the microswitch on the driver's side lock mechanism.

 

where is this drivers microswitch located exactly?...inside the door frame?

only exist if your car is installed with alarm system (which i guess yours got according to your explanation).
