Default 85' 190E blower motor replacement

Believe this is the W201 chassis. Is replacing the blower motor the same as the W124 chasis that had a link on another post. If so - great - if not where is the blower on my car and how do I get to it. Bought a replacement motor without fans but concerned because there are metal filings in the center dash vent area. Are these from the motor bearings?

Default RE: 85' 190E blower motor replacement

Found the answer to my own question. They are very similar. Helped that I went out and bought a repair manual! In the middle of the job now. Went the route of buying just the motor. Took it down to a machine shop to have the fans pulled off and pressed onto the new motor shafts. Unfortunately, had to cut the shafts off the old motor to get them into the press. The new shafts were slightly shorter - we didn't realize that at the shop, so had to buy a puller and test fit several times before I got the alignment right. Now the fan won't run but it might be a fuse. Will need to wait until tomorrow to go back and troubleshoot and finish the job.
