Default 2004 e500 radio issue

Hello everyone I searched before posting this but did not locate anyone who had this same issue before. Driving down the road the radio will momentarily 2-3 seconds stop playing music. It does not go to the home screen or reset completely just sort of freeze up and then resume. Sometimes it resumes and the volume is a bit lower. I noticed that it is doing this and the cd changer (in dash) is cycling every 30-40 seconds or so. But even with the audio system off the cd changer is cycling every 30-40 seconds ( rough estimate) has anyone got any advice? I unhooked the battery overnight and rehooked it in just this morning with no change. Would pulling fuse six be worth trying or ?

Thank you,
Mike

My best advice:

99% odds the unit is failing, take it to the dealer for diagnosis.

Other interesting fact about the issue. Radio does not skip when the car is idling or when the car is in accessory mode (engine not running) only when going down the road

Wanted to give everyone a final update, dealer came back with the fact that that there was corrosion at the antenna splitter. Updated the audio Gateway still had issue turns out there was something wrong with the navigation processor. Had the option of "looping the navigation system" or having it fixed for a lot of money. I opted for option 1.
Thanks everyone for the help
