Default 2003 E55 ESP Warning Problem

Hi Guys

We're a trader from the UK, and need a quick bit of help and advice please!!!

We have a beautiful 2003 E55 AMG. We noted that the battery ran out quickly over the cold snap a couple of months back.

So we replaced it with a Banner battery. Flat within a week (of not running the car)! Tried a second Banner - same again...

So fitted a Varta - maybe 10 days without driving and it's completely flat.

Firstly - is this normal on these cars???????

So anyway, fully charged it again a few days ago, then drove it yesterday...

We now have a message on the dash board notifying us of an ESP fault and that it must go to a Mercedes workshop!!!

Tried the full lock left and right to reset it, but to no avail (check manual - this only solves a different ESP warning - not the take car to workshop one).

Can anyone help us get rid of this warning. What are the possible causes?

Can low battery cause this, and so topping up the charge will get rid of it?

Or possible more sinister problems?

Assume it must be battery/voltage related as never did it before!

Many thanks!!!

Lion Heart
