Default 2003 e500 Throttle Position Sensor

I took my 2003 e500 to the local Benz service shop and they quoted me 250 on labor for replacing a new Throttle Position Sensor (TPS). A mechanic I know told me he could do it for around 100 as long as it doesn't need special programming to fit the car. So my question is does it need special programming, and is it reasonable to think he can do the job for such a low price?

you still need to clear the trouble codes off and get the idle to be set back. My suggestion, go to the local benz service.. saves you more time and effort. 250, its a good price
