Default Throttle Position Sensor

I have a 1990 300E that apparently has a bad throttle position sensor. To buy new the only option is a whole throttle body which is around $400...but I found a car that is being parted out where I could get only the sensor for $50. Is it possible to just replace the sensor or must the whole throttle body be replaced? It doesn't appear that there are any screws or bolts to the sensor so I am not sure if it is built in to the throttle body or if it just pops in. Anyone with some knowledge on this would be greatly appreciated.

Try the w124 section on mbworld.org a bunch of helpful members that do a lot of diy's.
Someone should have the info.
Did you run diagnostics to rule out other issues?

yes, you can just change the sensor.

you have to calibrate it after changing.
