Default Water spillage in gearbox!!!!!!

I have a 2000 CLK 430, and I recently spilled water into the gearbox and now the car does not shift gears properly when driving. Anyone out there have any suggestions on a DIY fix to this problem. Any help would be greatly apprecitated.

needs a new shifter module will need to be done at dealer to activate the module and deactivate transport protection. you can install yourself but wont work unless brought to dealership.

Hi, I had a similar problem with my CLK500. Transmission oil cooler cracked internally allowing cooling water into the transmission oil. It was under warrenty so was fixed free of charge but I couldn't believe the damage. New radiator, new torque convertor and new gearbox! Only thing I could suggest as a DIY fix might be to flush the transmission oil several times through an oil seperator. How long has it been like it and how many miles have you done with the problem?
