Default Potentials issues w/ my New CLK

Just got an 06 CLK350. Curious if there is something wrong with my car. Here is the potential issue I have realized:

At night, all my controls/ buttons inside the car are illuminated with the exception of the headlight control. The little signs (off, auto, parking lights, big lights, etc) above the turnknob are not illuminated so it's kind of stupid because you don't really see what you are selecting (I understand that one will get used to it soon but nonetheless it seems weird that these signs and the control are the only ones not illuminated). Also the headbreak is not illuminated as well.

Please tell me if this is normal.

Thanks

I have an '06 CLK as well. Next time I'm in the car I'll check to see if mine does the same. Just a bit of a warning - my brother can also testify as he also bought the same car as me, an '06 CLK 350. The car in general has some funny electrical quirks. My car has only 1000 miles on it and it hasn't started a couple of times, sometimes the passenger seat belt extension comes out when no one is there, and sometimes it doesn't come out when someone is sitting there. The window has also gone up and down on it's own! Oh yeah, the auto windshield wipers have also come on by themselves on a hot dry day. But otherwise I am enjoying the car. If I wanted eletrical soundness and reliability I would have bought a Honda. Enjoy the car as it is a solid ride.

If you just bought it, take it back, tell them its defective, and then go get your honda.

No sense in being miserable.

Not miserable at all and definitely no plans to return to the car. Just very glad that I leased it instead of purchasing. Like I said, I am enjoying it. Another member asked about electrical problems so I told him the quirks my car has - that is the purpose of this discussion board - not my fault there are some quality issues. Besides, last time I checked "returning a car" isn't so easy!

I have a 2005 320.. The headlight control isn't illuminated on mine. But you kind of know what it is set for by feel. I just leave mine in auto since I have day time running lights enabled anyway.

come to think of that....

yeah, hondas and toyotas have never had this sort of ghostly activities when it comes to switches and electrical controls. ONLY on BMWs and MBs.

remember the incident with prime minister's BMW in Thailand? the car just wont unlock.
