Window Tint Question
I own a 2007 Mercedes C230 Sport. I'm getting the windows retinted again after reading forums and posts on sites in relation to scratches in my tint. I read that "moleskin" was highly recommended. When I called the guy that originally did my tint, he said he did not do "moleskin" but a felt liner that would require him to remove the door panel. It sounds the same based on what I've read, but I wanted to see if anyone else has done liners as opposed to the recommended moleskin.
1. Is the felt liner just as effective as the "moleskin"? I don't to waste any more money on these stupid windows if it won't. I'll just get the tint removed and call it a day.
2. If and when he removes the door panel and puts it back on, does this felt liner OR removal of the panel by someone other than the dealership affect my warranty in any way?
Just looking for anyone who has the same woes or some advice. Thank you in advance!!!
Oh!!! - Can anyone tell me if the Reverse and Neutral lights are supposed to light up redwhen in gear? My Drive and Park light up red, but for some reason I just noticed thatR and Ndon't... wondering if I'm going crazy or something is wrong. ::sigh::

OK>here's the deal. I have done this job on my own car. The first tint job scratched and I removed the scratched film and did the
"moleskin" treatment myself by taking off the door panels.
Moleskin and felt are basically the same thing. You just want something softer than the factory piece that is the culprit. That's it.
I used regular old hardware store sticky back felt. Call it what you like, it works. A bit hard finding black, but dark brown works
and you can't even really see it. A magic marker on the top would fix that. As long as it sticks properly to the factory part, you
will be fine. Removal of the door panel shouldn't void any warranty. I can't see why it would. NOTE: Some window tint film scratches
more easily than others. I just happened to get some that scratched easily. Others don't. So who knows. The tint shops will always
tell you theirs doesn't scratch easily. Or try to sell you a moleskin install for big bucks. That's the real deal on this. Some tints may
take a long time to scratch, some might not. I don't know which ones do and don't, so sorry there. Hope this helps you out.
