What is the toggle switch labled "W S" near the shift used for?

(W)inter (S)ummer, sometimes labeled S for Sport and E for Economy. It changes the way the gears change. In Winter mode, or Economy, the car typically starts out in second gear on a flat surface and upshifts that much later. Smoother, less power to the wheels, reduces spin in wet and slippery weather, and all that good stuff. S for Summer or Sport gives you earlier shifts, first gear start up, zippier and so on.
