One on my buttons fell off my stock radio the car is a 96 C280 and i would like to replace it with a radio out of a 2000 C class the part number for the new unit is 208 820 1486. Does anyone know if it would just simply fit in and work or will i run into some problems. Any help will be appriciated.

96 C280 radio part number is becker 003 820 36 66 Alpine part number is 003 820 60 86, 96 could have had a Becker or Alpine head unit. No even close, The W203 had a mjor redesign of the dash, Can buy the button or glue it back on. I had to replace the radio head on my 99 C280 almost $1000 with a 15% discount. Also do you have the BOSE sound system, if the radio from the 00 is from a BOSE equipped car, it could be a problem. IMHO try and have it fixed. it it isa Becker, they have a factory fix your Mercedes radio service. try a google search for Becker and check if Alpine offers a fix radio program also.

 

i have a complete head unit from a '99 C280. It works perfectly; I only replaced it because i wanted XM and an integrated CD (single disk). If you're interested, i could make you a good deal on it..
