Default Front brake disc

I understand when you change the brake disc, fronts in my case the ABS has to be disconnected and has to be reset by a dealer, Is this a truism? I found Sleepwalker diagrams and to me it doesn't seem as thou the ABS has to be disconnected, but the person I spoke to who is a tech for Ford said in any major brake job the ABS needs to be disconnected and reset? Yes, No ? help. My son and I were doing to do the job this weekend, which seems to be simple enough, also replace the brake fluid, I bought one of those one mand brake bleeders seems to be as advertized.

Hi C280 Wizard,

No the ABS system does not need to be reset. You don't even need to pull the hub off on the C280. Just unbolt the caliper and move it out of the way, and undo the 5mm allen bolt which secures it to the hub.

Does your brake bleeder suck the fluid out or push it out. If it sucks it out, you are better off Doing the job the old fasioned way with two people and not using the bleeder except maybe as a receptacle. I have never had much luck with the suction types, but maybe other people have.
